San Miguel’s "Lynda Stamps Community Scholarship" for former Lillian Larsen students who are graduating seniors at Paso Robles High School . Funds needed
This scholarship was established in 1998 in memory of Lynda Stamps who served as a kind and helpful school secretary for 13 years before cancer overtook her.   The committee needs your help!  Even $5 or $10 will help, but larger donation will help them reach the $1000 needed much more quickly.  Anyone who can donate at all is appreciated.  Who knows, if everyone would pitch in, they might even be able to offer 2 scholarships next year to some needy students. Students from Lillian Larsen have been well educated and are doing very well at Paso Robles High School. Many are focused on attaining a college degree. Many need financial assistance to help them be able to continue their education past high school.
You can help:   The preference is that you make
the check  payable to "Lynda Stamps Community Scholarship Committee"  and MAIL donations to
Susan  Johnson
9755 River Rd.  San Miguel, CA 93451     or look for them at the downtown Car Show on May 27 or send PayPal payment to ssushj@aol.com or you can make anonymous cash donation in the Lillian Larsen School office .  Please call Susan for questions for further help with making a donation:  423-4846

If you’d like to help the committee in any other way, please contact Susan or Linda who have been doing this for almost 20 years now and could use your help in making sure this scholarship continues.

Lillian Larsen School will celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday on Monday, March 2.

Students in Grades K - 5 will enjoy a morning of guest readers who will read a vast variety of stories to them.  Every 20 minutes, students will have a new reader.  The activities will begin at 8:45 and end at 11:40.

Read Across America

You're never too old, too wacky, too wild,
To pick up a book and read with a child.
You're never too busy, too cool, or too hot,
To pick up a book and share what you've got.

In schools and communities,
Let's gather around,
Let's pick up a book,
Let's pass it around.
There are kids all around you,

Kids who will need
Someone to hug,
Someone to read.
Come join us March 2nd
Your own special way
And make this America's
Read to Kids Day.

Lillian Larsen School wants your
Boxtops!   You can support your local school by clipping the "box tops" off items you purchase and turning them in to the school office or give them to a student who lives near you for their classroom collection.  The goal is $1000 and they already have $129.   Here's an easy opportunity to help!  Save those box tops!

  • San Miguel Joint Union School District had a new principal on Wednesday, January 14th Eighth grader Carlos Vargas purchased the opportunity to be Principal for a Day

  • at Lillian Larsen Elementary School at the 5th grade Science Camp Silent Auction in December.  Vargas reported to duty, greeted his office staff, headed to the playground for yard duty, helped in kindergarten and ordered some new supplies for middle school as some of his duties.  Here, Superintendent Dr. Curt Dubost congratulates Vargas on a job well done.
